University feels

Hey guys, Maddie here,

So today we both found out that we will be lucky enough to attend university. Tayla was lucky enough to get her first preference and will be studying a Bachelor of Communication and Journalism (as a dual degree). I'm very proud of her and all the effort she put into doing what she wants to do *proud little sister feels*. Last year was fairly horrible in terms of my schooling so I didn't get into what I wanted, which was expected, but I was lucky enough to get into a Bachelor of Arts and Secondary Eduction (also a dual degree).

Just to be clear, I have no idea what this little post is actually about. I think most of this will be me rambling along about my excitement and worries for university. So if you aren't interested in that, maybe don't read on!

I'm very pleased that I actually made into the university that I wanted too despite my slightly disappointing results. I still did incredibly well on my high school results, but they were disappointing when compared to what I was expecting. Now that I've got my foot in the door I can get my bearings for a year or so before trying to move into the course that I've always wanted to do for as long as I can remember (Bachelor of Architectural Design).

I'm also really looking forward to meeting many different kinds of people. Whilst I will undoubtedly struggle with initiating conversation/contact I'm sure that when I get there and start to get to know people things will work out for the best. The university that I will be attending has many of my old friends moving down which is also incredibly wonderful! The only downside to this is having people I haven't really gotten along with in the past moving down. This makes me so nervous. Especially considering my old friends are still friends with these people. Hopefully things will just slip into the old ways and we will get along despite our differences.

All in all, I just wanted to make a short little post while I get increasingly confused with time tables and course lists and majors and minors and all that jazz!

Thank you for reading this little piece of my rambling confused mind!
Love, Maddie xxoo

  1. congrats to both of you getting into uni! I'm sure you'll end up in your dream course, don't worry! I'm in year 12 this year and have no clue at what I want to do when I finish, scary stuff coming up!

    1. Thank you Lena! I hope I do! Year 12 can be a blast! I hope you have an amazing year! Don't rush into decisions or anything, you have a while! xx

  2. Yes, congratulations on both getting into university! I was over the moon when I got my acceptance letter as well and even though I didn't do as well in high school as I initially anticipated, none of that really mattered once I was at university studying. Oh my gosh I was so nervous too. My mom and I drove together from California to Texas in two days, and somewhere between the middle of Arizona and New Mexico I started screaming and crying and begging for her to turn the car around. I didn't know a single person in the entire state of Texas and I was totally freaking out about it. It turned out to be more than fine though- university challenged me in ways that I didn't even know I needed to be challenged, and I met the love of my life. :) Not a bad time at all!

You and Tayla will be in my thoughts! I still get a little jittery when I think about visiting home and having to see a lot of different people from my past that I don't exactly see eye-to-eye with! I think the best thing to do is just concentrate on your studies and bettering your soul- the petty people who may try to bring you down aren't worth your mind space anyways!

When do you start your courses? Are you moving on campus? :) I know you'll get all of your course lists figured out really soon if you haven't already! :) xoxoxox

    Love youuuuuuu

    1. Thank you so much Jenny! Aww! I'm sure that move would have been terrifying! That is certainly adorable! You are always so kind Jenny, thank you for thinking of us. We both start on the 3rd of March! We have figured out course lists, it's just timetables we need to figure out now! Love you too! xx
