Why am I blogging?

Recently someone asked me why I write this blog and I really didn't know how to answer their simple question. I'm not a particularly good writer or anything of the sort so that got me thinking about why I have this blog full of anything from personal posts to makeup to anime. 

I guess I would say that this little piece of the internet is where I like to let myself (along with the occasional post from my twin sister) rant, review and recommend. As I said before, I'm not a particularly good writer but I do like to write (I find it much easier than talking) and I like to get the creative juices flowing. I would consider this to be a 'personal' blog as my posts have a range of different themes that don't really flow well together, but that's just how I like it. It's something I like to do to pass the time when I'm bored or procrastinating doing my uni work (which is quite often). I especially love writing blog posts when I'm on holiday because it makes me feel as though I'm going something productive instead of lazing in bed all day. 

I can imagine someone sitting at their laptop right now thinking "But what's the point? Nothing good is coming from this blog, you don't even have a large following?" and that's very true. This is just my personal opinion, but why does it matter? Why should I be blogging just so people will read my posts? If I had advertisements or sponsors on here I'm sure a large following would be what I want, but that's not why I started this blog (hence why I have no advertisements on here). It's just a place to write various ramblings about random topics and I know there is a very, very, small percent of people reading them but I know I enjoy it and that's all that matters to me.
