For the past two weeks or so I haven't been feeling like my usual excitable, happy self. I'm just feeling a bit down and annoying and left out so in an attempt to cheer myself (and possibly you) up I've compiled this list of 101 things that make me happy (in no particular order).
- Cats- I simply can't resist them
- Dogs- For the same reason as cats
- Eating a freshly baked cake
- Reading- I can't resist the temptation to snuggle down with a good page turner
- Getting paid- Pretty obvious as to why this makes me happy
- Starting a new addictive series (of books/television shows/whatever floats your boat)
- Buying new manga
- Buying new books- Gotta love that 'new book' smell
- Buying second hand books- They also have a particularly appealing scent
- Pizza
- The scent of freshly cut grass- though the sneezing that occurs afterwards for us hay-fever sufferers leaves a lot to be desired
- Musicals
- A quiet room
- Helping someone out
- Blue skies
- Rainy days spent at home
- Pasta
- Pastry!
- The colour pink
- Anime & Manga
- Glitter- I'm a child at heart, what did you expect?
- That stage of laughing so hard that no sound can be heard from you other than the random gasps for air
- When your hard work for something pays off
- Doctor Who
- BBC Sherlock
- Harry Potter
- Chocolate- Who can resist the goodness and happiness chocolate brings you?
- Spending money- Though I'm sure we can all agree that this can be a good and bad feeling
- Downloading new music
- Being able to quote an entire film with friends
- Singing as loud as I can- no matter how untalented I am in the music department
- Random strangers that smile at you
- Falling asleep to the sound of rain
- Receiving letters from my wonderful penpals
- The feeling you get when you are free of everything you need to do
- Watching old couples go on 'dates' together- because even though you look and feel like a creeper, you wish you could be as happy as they are in the future
- Walking
- Learning something new
- Sitting down after a long day at work
- Frozen yoghurt
- Getting dressed up for a special night or event
- Makeup
- Fresh Flowers- I can't resist Tulips and daffodils
- Having a nap under a shady tree
- Naps in general
- The feeling of grass under my bare feet
- Lazy Sunday afternoons- a rare luxury for those of us that work in retail
- Writing lists
- Completing things on those lists
- Popcorn
- Singing in the car- though we all know it's more like "yelling in the car"
- Wearing a new pair of shoes for the first time- as long as they don't leave us with some horrible blisters
- Old photos
- Movie nights
- Being the first person awake
- The smell of rain
- Fresh bed sheets
- Train rides in winter
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Being healthy- a rare feeling for sweet-toothed people such as myself
- Sunsets
- Disney movies
- Feeling comfortable with someone- it takes a long time but it's so worth it
- New stationary supplies- we all love it, don't lie to me!
- Warm towels
- Wearing something as soon as it's been ironed/put in the dryer
- Finding money you forgot about
- Those rare mornings when you know you can stay in bed
- Supportive people
- When people genuinely make you feel wanted
- Proving someone wrong
- When something works itself out
- When a parcel arrives for you
- Hearing your parents laugh
- Eating a good home cooked meal after you've been away
- Wearing your favorite t-shirt- we all have one, or we will eventually
- Warm blankets
- Jumping into a pool on an incredibly hot day
- When people show you that they actually care
- Libraries
- Good hair days
- Waking up on Christmas day
- Cities at night
- Travelling
- New pyjamas
- Knowing something exciting is going to happen
- Lord of the Rings Marathons- Soon to be a lot longer and more entertaining with the final instalment of The Hobbit coming out later this year (and who doesn't love Orlando Bloom flaunting it as Legolas?)
- Baby animals- No matter what they are, they are irresistible
- My mums vegetable pasties- comfort food at it's finest
- Those days where you don't leave the house
- Cold but sunny mornings
- Rearranging your bedroom
- Meeting celebrities- So far I've managed to meet Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), Oliver and James Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Vic Mignogna (one of my favourite voice actors) and Stanislav Ianevski (Viktor Krum)
- Fluffy/cozy dressing gowns
- Morning sunshine
- Frilly socks
- Having a twin sister
- Poofy skirts- Because even though some people think I look weird or childish I can't help but love looking kind of like a cupcake!
- Keeping in contact with your favorite teachers- weather it be via facebook or in person!
- Being alive and being generally happy and healthy
